CULVER CITY, CALIF. (April 3, 2006) - Sony Pictures Home Entertainment celebrates the 10th anniversary of “Stargate SG-1” with the release of the Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-8 DVD collection on June 13. Starring Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver, General Hospital), Michael Shanks (Door To Door), Amanda Tapping (Life or Something Like It), Christopher Judge (Snow Dogs) and Don Davis (A League of Their Own), Stargate SG-1 is based on the hit 1994 film Stargate. Chronicling the adventures of the Stargate Command, the series follows the four members of SG-1 on their missions through an ancient “gate” to new worlds where they encounter fascinating and sometimes dangerous cultures.

Created by Jonathan Glassner and Brad Wright (TV's "The Outer Limits"), Stargate SG-1 debuted on Showtime in 1997, later airing on The Sci-Fi Channel beginning with Season Six. Now in its 10th season, Stargate SG-1 is the longest running sci-fi series in US television history and has been nominated for more than 71 awards, including eight Emmy® nominations.

The Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-8 DVD collection contains the complete episodes for each season and value added content including “The Directors’ Series” and “Beyond the Gate” featurettes.
