When SG-1 visited P4M-328, a world in the midst of an uneasy political climate, they inadvertently interrupted a formal reception being held in a museum and were mistaken as rebels, becoming the unwitting captors in a hostage situation. The Viceroy and many chancellors had escaped in the confusion, and Attius, one of the chancellors, was the only government official remaining among the hostages. He refused to believe SG-1's story that they were extraterrestrial explorers, and he tried to negotiate, offering himself as a hostage if SG-1 would agree to let the other hostages go. Later he decided that SG-1 were nothing more than common thieves, and he encouraged the hostages to rise up against them, but he was stopped in mid-sentence by Teal'c, who shot him with a zat gun and urged the guests to remain calm as they attempted to rectify the most unfortunate circumstance.
