EMERALD POINT N.A.S.
EPISODES 1-4

This prime time serial, in the tradition of "Dynasty," centered around the interlocking relationships of two families at the Emerald Point Naval Air Station. As part of a large ensemble cast, Richard played Lieutenant Simon Adams, a hot-shot Naval pilot. The video includes scenes from his storyline.

In the first four episodes, Simon's commanding officer, Admiral Thomas Mallory (Dennis Weaver) must contend with problems relating to the incursion of a Navy aerial exercise by a Cuban aircraft and the subsequent mid-air collision that sent Lt. Simon Adams and the Cuban flyer into the sea. Simon's father, Harlan Adams (Patrick O'Neal and later Robert Vaughn) is a friend and adversary of the Admiral, and his sister Hilary Adams (Sela Ward) is engaged to fellow Naval pilot Lt. Glenn Matthews (Andrew Stevens). Matthews has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Jeremy Novak, one of Hilary's lovers. Meanwhile, Simon navigates his relationship with Celia Warren (Susan Dey), his friend since childhood and the Admiral's daughter as well as the wife of Lt. Commander Jack Warren (Charles Frank), who acts as the defense attorney in Matthews' court martial. Simon also encounters conflict with a Russian delegation ostensibly visiting the base for cultural and informational exchange.
