EPISODES 14-17

This prime time serial, in the tradition of "Dynasty," centered around the interlocking relationships of two families at the Emerald Point Naval Air Station. As part of a large ensemble cast, Richard played Lieutenant Simon Adams, a hot-shot Naval pilot. The video includes scenes from his storyline.

In episodes 14-17, Simon suffers jet aircraft "flame-out" during Naval maneuvers with tragic results for his friend and navigator, Phil Baines. He is devastated by the loss of his friend, especially when Phil's widow blames him for causing her husband's death. Simon is grounded for several days following the incident, but he appeals to Admiral Mallory for a chance to fly again. Simon is assigned to a reconnaissance squadron, but on his first flight the spectre of Baines' death engulfs him as he attempts a carrier landing, and Celia is overcome with fear as Simon returns to flying.
