There is a page in my book of memories that is shared by MacGyver and Col. Jack O'Neill. Bonded by their codes of honor, their integrity, and unfailing positive attitudes, they are two very different characters, yet in many ways they are alike. A challenge to portray... a challenge well met.

I wish I had been lucky enough to have seen Legend. The imaginative combination of your inimitable humor with the drama of the Old West would, I am sure, have provided me with many wonderful moments to remember.

Last year I sent you a birthday message too. It was the longest of the Austrian letters that you got on your birthday site. Possibly you remember that I told you how much I admire you and that in my opinion you are the greatest actor of all! However, you can read all these things in the former letter - of course I still love you (and your characters - especially MacGyver and Jack O'Neill) as much as I have done the last 8 (!) years!

This year I want to tell you how glad I am about the fact that there will be a 7th season of Stargate SG-1 and about your decision to play the role of Jack O'Neill for one more year! Thank you so much!! I understand that this decision must have been very hard to make because you don't have much time for your family while you are working on Stargate. Nevertheless I'm sure that you know how to handle this situation: If anyone can do - it's you!!!

I'm really happy! It's very important for me to know that I will be able to watch another season of Stargate and - which is much more important - to see you on TV in a current show. Over here in Austria it's not possible to watch e.g. your commercial for MinutePass or other projects you take part in. The only possibility to see you is Stargate - so you might understand why I'm so glad about your decision! Thanks!! You are a great actor and there is something I especially enjoy: The "little things" I've noticed in your roles: I love it when you pull up an eyebrow (or even both) to show e.g. astonishment or doubt. I also like your kind of gesticulation and the way you hold one hand against your face to lean your head on while you are sitting at a table. Several other (facial) expressions are cool too. Of course I also love the way you are talking and your kind of humor. It's really cool and always makes me laugh! The positive attitude to life that you give in your roles is also very important to me!

I'd like you to know that some of your favorite things - e.g. skiing, ice-skating, taking photos and the Simpsons - are my favorite things too!! I love to ski and to ice-skate, but unfortunately I haven't had the possibility to play ice-hockey yet.

I read about the plans of a new show called "Young MacGyver". It would be super if you played the original Angus MacGyver in at least some of the episodes. I think that all your fans would love this! I "got to know" you as MacGyver and therefore I'd really like to see you in this role again after so many years. This could be fantastic - please think about it!!

As you already know I really admire your work as an actor! But I also love the way you care about nature and other people!!! Although you are very busy you don't forget about these things! It's great that you support different projects and organisations to save nature and to help people! You (as MacGyver) gave me the opinion that it's very important to be helpful and to respect other people's attitudes.

Thank you so much - just for everything! You probably can't imagine how much you helped me to become a better person. Maybe many people tell you similar things... but in my case it's really true: Watching MacGyver made me stronger and more self confident! But this is only one reason why I love you so much. So, your work got me through it, even though there will always be an emptiness in my heart for my friend, I heal more each day. You are truly an exceptional man. In an abstract sort of way, this is my second message to you to express my admiration. A few months ago I sent something up to the Vancouver Studios, but have no idea if you've received it or not. Be that as it may, I must once again attempt to express my heartfelt admiration for your work as an artist (which is a clever way of saying actor/producer/etc.) with the various productions and performances that you have to your credit.

Like many of those who name themselves a fan of yours, I think of myself knowing just a bit more of what makes you the man you are... the private Rick that revels equally in blasting down the slopes, across the ice, down a river, or that mad dash down south to be with the new purpose in life, that is your precious daughter... of these things, none of us really can ever expect to make ourselves a part, as a real & close friend would... but we can admire you for them never-the-less. I was greatly enthusiastic when I heard about a seventh season for Stargate SG-1. It is, without a doubt, one of my favorite hours of each week. At the same time though, I realize that there is an inherent danger in such prospects. Having no children of my own, I can only draw upon my childhood experiences with my own father, who was most often away on business and missed most of my life.

While my own father was not someone I looked up to once I finally did get to know him, I do know that you are the kind of man many of us do find admirable. So, in my own small way, as a devoted fan... should the schedule or demands of the jobs get to be too much...

...you have not only my permission but my expectation to choose being father to your daughter over being hero to the masses.

When all is said and done, I feel just as proud and privileged as your daughter to have known you... if only through your work.

I was at a wedding the other night with my boyfriend and it was the 1st time I'd EVER missed Stargate. But I got around it by getting my uncle to tape the repeat. But back to the matter at hand.

Thanks for so many years of great television and film. MacGyver was a favourite on Saturdays, Stargate SG-1 a favourite every night of the week. You have made so many people happy over so many years. I had just discovered you through Stargate right when I was continuing my degree at NAU and really being away from home for the first time I always looked forward to study breaks to watch your show! Then I discovered MacGyver later on and watched them when I didn't have evening classes or cheered when a *snow day* was called at NAU which was VERY rare to be able to watch MacGyver. (They would make us climb through the windows to get to class because they never cancelled). Plus I had studies abroad to Spain and caught both MacGyver and Stargate SG-1 in Spanish which was a real trip to watch. It helped to watch those shows when I was feeling homesick! Well enough rambling!

MacGyver Saved My Marriage

I married MacGyver twelve years ago, though I didn't know it at the time. You see, I'd watched just about every episode all through vet school, and I was hooked. Forget Tom, Mel, and Paul. You can have them. For me, MacGyver was it. Those eyes. That smile. And he was kind. Helpful. Smart. And funny. Very funny. Kids loved him, and so did I. Every week I watched. And dreamed.

Well, life being what it is, I realized that actually meeting and marrying him just wasn't gonna happen. Life went on. I graduated, got a job. One day I looked out my window, and there he was. No, not MacGyver. Some cute dude with shaggy hair. But he had roommates. Women roommates. Oh, well. Soon, he grew a shaggy beard to go with the hair. Still cute.

It was the dog's fault, really. Missie was a poor excuse for an Australian Shepherd, but she was smart. She hated men. But she loved Herman, as I came to call him. I trusted that dog. Herman was cute. Kind. Helpful. Smart. A molecular biologist and computer whiz, to be exact. We had fun, Herman and me. We camped, hiked, rode motorcycles. He kept the beard. I married him a year later.

Life was great, for a while. Then came the kids. Money was tight. I gained a few pounds and struggled to stay sane. So did he. Typical of many marriages, our relationship fell apart. You know, the old put the kids first sort of thing. Not that you really have a choice. Life got crazy. Our son was diagnosed with leukemia. Crisis mode. No time for each other. We said hurtful things. Criticized. Ignored. He wasn't nice to me. I wasn't nice to him, either. Somehow we managed to hang on for the sake of the kids, but it was a farce. It wasn't pretty. And after a while, it got old. I'd had enough. Once or twice I actually dialed the number for an apartment for rent, it was that bad.

Then his mom died, and I couldn't do it. Not now. Life went on. Then one day I was digging through our pile of videos, trying to sort the old from the new, the good from the bad. And there it was, way in the back in a stack of old stuff, the label long since faded. MacGyver. One episode, still intact, though the rest of the tape had long since been taped over. I watched. My kids watched. And we were hooked. Again. I'd forgotten how much I loved that show. And MacGyver? Where was he now? I hadn't seen him in ten years.

Enter the internet. And e-bay. And, voila! All one hundred and thirty nine episodes to be had. I bid. And won. We watched and watched. And loved every minute of it. That kindness. Helpfulness. Caring. Smiling. Helping people, some of which didn't deserve it (like Murdoc). Working things out. Trying hard. Respecting kids. Values I wanted to instill in my kids, yet I wasn't modeling them very well - especially not recently. If MacGyver were here, would I treat him the way I had been treating my husband? I sure hoped I wouldn't. I watched, and listened. And then I heard it.

Hmmm. It all boiled down to the golden rule. Thinking positive. Making the right choice, even if it was hard. It had to work. I had a talk with my husband. Let's just be nice to each other for a change. He agreed. And you know something? That MacGyver really had something there. Things really changed. For the better. And I decided to stick around.

Well, the months passed, the kids and I continued to watch, and watch, and watch. Soon the next question. What else has he done? Where is MacGyver now? Again, enter the internet. Google. Aha! E-bay, again. And we watched some more. Stargate SG 1. Firehouse. Past the Bleachers. Ordinary Heroes. In the Eyes of a Stranger. Whoa. Slow down there. Who is that? There, that guy with the beard. Could it be? It sure was. Looked awfully familiar. Something about the sparkle in the eyes. That smile. Behind the beard. Suddenly I was looking straight at my husband. Well, the age is about ten years off, the hair color's not quite right, and the eye color is different, but there it was. I had married MacGyver, after all.

We're doing much better now. The spark is back. We're talking more. Laughing hard. Making a choice to be nice to each other. Spending time with each other. Riding the motorcycle again. Focusing on the positive. Our son is almost off chemo and life is sweet.

OW man what am I gonna write?

Hey Rick,

First of all I wanna wish you the greatest birthday there is, I sure hope you're gonna celebrate it with your beautiful daughter Wylie, who definitely has got your eyes.

I know I'm gonna celebrate mine big time, for mine is 5 days later and I'm gonna be 18. But enough about me.

I guess what I want to say is that I'm a seventeen year old girl who admires and realyyy loves your acting, sadly not much is shown here on Dutch TV, but whenever MacGyver or Jack O'Neill are around so am I.

I always kinda liked sf but when I first saw you in Stargate I was really confused. That was the one role I did not thought I'd see you in. But you play it great and though Jack is different, in some ways he is the same as MacGyver, because you put your humor and love into it. So every now and then I see you instead of them and that's what I love. Most actors just go with the role they are giving. But you always put a little of you in it. Well I'm not going to say I'm the biggest fan you ever got because you probably hear it all the time. What I am gonna say is that I really admire you and hope to see you on TV every now and then.

Thanx so much for all you've given me and all the other fans out there. I love that you're doing another year of Stargate and I hope that you and Wylie will always enjoy your days together, take good care of her and Apryl, and of course yourself.

Again have a great birthday, and hey about computers I did not learn that in one day too, I learned through making mistakes big time, screwed up my computer many times, but through making those mistakes I learned a lot. Hey I even met one of my best friends Zarina through your last birthday site, because of the message she send you. Dear Richard,

I've been a fan of yours for almost half my life. First, when you "were" MacGyver and now as you became "O'Neill with 2 L's". As Angus (who never gives up and taught me not to give up either), you helped me deal with a very serious problem that was taking me down. As Jack, you turn my days a lot more easy to cope with whenever I need.

You are not your characters of course but there are some points that you obviously share with them:
Your love for kids and animals (especially dogs)
Your respect for nature (fishing: not to catch fish but just to be there)
The importance you give to your friends
Your sense of humour, etc.

As probably all your other fans, I respect and admire you not only as the great actor you are but also as the incredible human being you seem to be throughout your actions in your personal life.

I recognise and appreciate the enormous sacrifice you make year after year (not being with your little Queen as much as you would like) to give us all the pleasure of watching you for... how many years now?

Happy 53rd Birthday. As a contemporary of yours (actually a little older), I feel comfortable addressing you by what I understand is your preferred nickname.

I have been a fan since your MacGyver days and am jealous of my own daughter because she had the opportunity to meet you when she was in the D.A.R.E. program at her middle school and you came to speak to the children.

If I had known in advance that you were going to be there, I would have taken the day off work just to have the chance to shake your hand and tell you how much I appreciated someone of your celebrity coming to a local school to inspire and encourage children to say no to drugs.

I am a fan of the original Stargate movie. Then I heard there was going to be a TV series based on the movie. Since there have been very few TV series based on movies that I have liked , I was prepared to not like it. Then I found out that you were the star, so I watched the premiere episode on Showtime with an open mind. I'm very glad I did . I have not missed a single episode, and have enjoyed every one of them. I now consider every one of the SG-1 team family.

I am looking forward to the rest of Season 6 and a whole new Season 7. As a fan, I am pleased that you have decided to delay your retirement for an additional year. As a parent, I understand the difficulty involved in making that decision. Wylie is a cutie and I hope you take all the time you need and want to enjoy her at every step of her growing up. When I would find myself wishing my daughter was walking or talking or doing whatever, my mother would tell me to stop wishing her life away. She told me to enjoy her now, as she is, doing what she's doing. She was right, my daughter is now 24 and I find myself reminiscing about her baby and childhood and being grateful for being with her as much as I possibly could.

What do you say to someone whom you have never met, but feel like you have known your whole life?? I grew up watching MacGyver and in my teen years it seemed to be the only thing that my dad and I could do together with out arguing. I continue to watch MacGyver quite often and I am eagerly anticipating its arrival on DVD. The Stargate SG-1 series is very funny and fascinating too. However, I am a MacGyver fan through and through... This may sound very strange, but years ago, I had an exact replica made of the hockey jersey that you had on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I could write poetry, telling you how my life changed when I first saw you, but... I won't. In fact I'd tell a downright lie! I was only a baby and my whole family was watching MacGyver during my favorite cartoon... I wasn't particularly happy about it.

Several years later, my best friend and I came across a very strange thing... MacGyver in space. God, this guy looks damn good with grey hair... Oh and the look on his face when the blond scientist smiles at him. Well, astronomy, ethnology, intelligent storylines, friendship, men in uniform, secret love and humor... It has to be my favorite show! Yes, and mine too, my best friend added.

Am I being ridiculous? Well, maybe, but that's the truth...

I hope you are enjoying your B-day. The first time I saw you on TV was when I was about 8 yrs. old on MacGyver. Now I see you all the time on Stargate at age 26. I also liked you in Pandora's Clock. You definately look good in a uniform.

My B-day runs between your daughter's and I think Amanda Tapping's.

In my life I have traveled to Munich, Germany with my Grandmother in 1987 and had a blast, I would like to go back someday. I know that you like hockey and skiing. The best places that I have gone to here on the East Coast are at Hunter Mt., Elk Mt., Montage Mt., and Tanglewood. Mostly in PA and NY... If and when I find the time to go with a few friends we go to one of these places. When you get a chance check out the interactive sites, you will definately have fun seeing what other people have done for the Stargate world.

I am happy that you do a lot for the environment and endangered animals. Keep it going and the same for your work that you are doing now on SG-1.

Happy Birthday Richard!

Thank you for making the sacrifice of your time and energy to be with us for another season of SG-1. You are continuing to give so much of yourself, commuting to make time for us and still have time with Wylie. Please know how much we appreciate your efforts as well as the joy you bring to us with Jack, Ernest (my favorite), Mac, and all the other characters you have created. Don't fail to give yourself enough credit for what you give to us on the stage. To spend an hour with Jack, or one of your other creations, is a wonderful and much needed oasis in a stress filled day of real life. Don't ever lose sight of how much your work gives to all of us.

I hope that someday you will be able to make a Legend reunion movie, or at least visit an alternate reality where Jack is Ernest. Ernest was so much fun; we all need a little Ernest in our lives.

Dear Richard!

I have read that you like when «fans point out the little things they've noticed in your roles.» I guess I could say that I am one of those fans. I also like to remember and mention some good moments from your shows. I like to watch your series (MacGyver, Stargate SG-1...) and movies (Past the Bleachers, Pandora's Clock...). I like every single show and movie because each and every one of them has some point.

What I like the most about MacGyver is that he always remembers little things so everybody likes him. In MacGyver I like one episode when MacGyver went back to his college because there was a competition in physics. Professor's son was going to that college and he was one of the competitors in that competition. Everything was fine until he didn't win the competition. He built the bomb and he wanted to blow up the college. And now there is a question why did he make the bomb. Probably there were a lot of reasons, but one of them was that his dad (MacGyver's professor) didn't spend enough time with him and what is the most important thing - he forgot his son's birthday. I think that we don't have to remember dates because there is a lot of numbers, but we have to write them somewhere so that we don't forget about it. I know that for some people dates are nothing else but a bunch of numbers, but it's very important date for the person who celebrates his birthday. What I want to tell with this story is: Happy Birthday!

What is the most interesting about your birthday is that it is one day after mine. I also read that you decided to be in the seventh season of «Stargate SG-1» and I am very happy because I will be able to watch the new adventures of the SG-1 team.

What I like in the «Stargate SG-1» and in the same time I dislike is Teal'c's life. He can live 139 years which is very long. But if I get it right Teal'c in the episode «The Light» wasn't so happy because he was going to be 102 years old. So he knows exactly how long he's gonna live and that is a good thing, but in the same time it is not. Humans live for about 80 years, but we never know when something will happen to us. (By that I think about sicknesses.) Teal'c can be cured by his Goa'uld. The only different way that Teal'c can die is if some accident happens to him. So what I am trying to say is that we have to be very happy about every moment that we spend in this world and we have to be thankful for every moment and for every year of our life. So, with my 17 years of life, I like every moment of my life, no matter who I spend it with.

I also wanted to thank you for your work in Stargate and for agreeing to another season. I know that was a hard choice for you with being a dad and away so much. I and a lot of other people appreciate the sacrifice. The whole cast is wonderful but if I am honest, I watch because you are on it. Your work on the show is great. A lot of people mention your humor but I wanted to mention how wonderful your serious acting is as well. The work you did in Abyss just blew me away. Plus, you can convey so much with just a look. Very expressive. I enjoy the humor too but I wanted to let you know that I think you are one fine actor and it's a shame you aren't recognized for that fact. People on Sci Fi shows usually aren't. Ah well.

Anyway, enough of that. Have a very Happy Birthday! Good luck to you in the future! Hope when you do leave Stargate, you won't retire for good. In the mean time, have a great time with being a dad to Wylie, and your environmental projects!

I often call him my SEAN CONNERY, because he reminds me of the actor. And the number one reason I married him is my CATS LOVED HIM. Animals are a very good judge of character.

I like SG-1 so much I named my new kitten after an Egyptian pharaoh & after two characters in the show. His full name is SETI TEAL'C O'NEILL with two L's. His first name is from a famous pharaoh SETI the first, father of RAMSES the second. The reason for the second name is because he is a black & gray & white tabby. The pattern of stripes that come together on his forehead form the seal on TEAL'C'S HEAD on the show, looks just like it. He had to have a third name so I gave him yours. Because as you know all good kitties must have three good names, so he can hold his head & tail up high in pride. When I was at a convention and met PETER WILLIAMS I showed him a picture of my kitten and he agreed that he had TEAL'C'S seal on his head and that he was named well.

I don't have children, but when my dogs are ill I'll suddenly be surrounded by other dog owners offering knowledge of what they've been through. It really can be an outstanding feeling to be so far from someone and yet so close too.

Through my own Stargate site I know I've also brought enjoyment to others with the stories that I've written, bringing a bit of happiness to others when they've felt down. It's a wonderful feeling when a stranger writes to tell you how much they've enjoyed what you've written, often becoming new friends. It helps make this planet feel smaller and friendlier, knowing you have so many friends in so many countries. THIS is the sort of world you've helped create among your fans and I, personally, am very grateful to you for it.

One of my favorite episodes of MacGyver is "The Madonna." You gave a whole new meaning to a Christmas song that had long made me as sad as Mac. The look on Mac's face when Father Patrick tells him that his mom wouldn't have even known he was there because she was saying crazy things when she was dying, talking about "you and Ice Cream." Wow, that was deep. You made Christmas a lot easier for me to bear from that year forward. Thank you.

I have loved each and every wonderful moment of Legend and Stargate SG-1. I'm going to try and make this short (or rather not too long) because I've seen you've received so many messages. But there are still three things I want to tell you.

First, as a television viewer who has much admiration and respect for your work and your person, I would like to tell you that I enjoy very much what you do. I think you're a great actor. I especially like what you're doing with O'Neill's character, because he's a very "dense" character and he goes through an awful lot of expressions which only reveal the extent of your talent. Also, like all of your fans, I very selfishly wish that you continue to work for many years and I'm happy that you decided to continue the Stargate thing. On a more personnal note, I like to write from time to time, and I must say, you recently gave a new will to get involved more seriously in writing. You inspire me and for that, I'm very very very grateful to you.

Then, as a daughter whose father has been almost totally absent of my childhood and teenage, I wish to say that you must take all the time you need to provide your love and attention to your daughter, even if this means we won't get to see you on TV anymore (after all, you already spent so much time with us...). From your career, you were bringing lessons of life, humour, sensibility, compassion (all of them precious medicines). Only two expamples, from Mac: 'THE VIRGIN' (THE MADONNA) and 'THIN ICE' and there're many more from him and other roles. I was so impressed for a scene when Pete comes into Mac's floating house. It's evident that Dana Elcar isn't acting his sight problem. I remember Mac looking at him, kind and compassionate. It wasn't Mac! It was you! I think I'm not wrong. It seems to me that sensitive scenes are easier in your case: you only need just to be you. Like in 'Cold Lazarus,' too.

When I saw Mac playing hockey I said to myself: This man isn't acting, he's really happy doing this!!! (I didn't know anything about you and hockey in those years). Close up shots develop much!

As I said on the last birthday, you have an educator inside you! Fortunately you decide to share your life with us. 'A person who doesn't share his/her life to others, is wasting life'.

A short time ago, I translated your 2002 thanks message for MACGYVER SPANISH site. Fans were so happy and touched by your words, really! One of them said to me: "Thanks, Marcela to share this with us. It's so nice what I imagined about Richard is real, it's true! Sensitive and a very good person! I'm Happy now!" the Spanish fan said.

Whatever be your projects, if they make you feel happy, I'll be happy too.

First of all I wish you all the best and lots of love for your 53rd Birthday!!!!!!!! You are one of the greatest actors in the world for me, though I know you don't like compliments very much.

I got to know you when I was about five years old and MacGyver immediately became my and my brother's favourite series. (Perhaps one reason for this is that I was born in the month when MacGyver started, in September 1985). However, I liked the intelligent way in which these episodes were made and it really roused my curiosity for Physics and Chemistry. Now I'm 17 years old, a student in Zurich, Switzerland, and I still like you, your behaviour and the way you smile. There are no words to explain my admiration for you. By the way I've learnt plenty of things in Physics and Chemistry from you as MacGyver that helped me to get A-grades in both subjects.

Today watching Stargate became an essential part in my life beside my hobbies like skiing (of course in the Swiss Alps), ice-skating, reading, and playing the transverse flute.

Really love your work. I did not get to see MacGyver (I'm watching the re-runs now), but I was disappointed when Legend did not stay on the air - your comic talents were surprising, and refreshing (love the way you would bounce back to your feet after you fell, or were pushed, or whatever!), and in Stargate, the way you can show what you are feeling without needing any dialog is amazing to me. Also, the lack of "image" consciousness, and the twists and turns in the story line make it my favorite show, and Jack O'Neill, my favorite TV character.

I hope you are not seriously thinking about retiring. For one thing, you are too young, and too talented, and for another, I really enjoy watching people who enjoy what they do and let their audience enjoy their work, also, and you are one of the best. Stargate is a great show, much more real and believable than other shows in the genre I've seen, and I am a big Sci Fi fan.

Hi Rick,

First of all, Happy Birthday... Second, I heard like many other fans that Stargate SG-1 is going into year seven. Wow and thank you... Thirdly, I have a confession to make...

Prior to January 6th, I have never seen a single episode of MacGyver (it just showed up on the TV LAND channel this week)... and until Sci-fi picked it up I had never seen Stargate SG-1.

How did this happen? Well, when you grow up in a small ranch house that was built for two retirees and instead stuff it with two adults, one older brother, me, four German Shepherds and one television, you kinda learn when to pick your battles, and the TV viewing wasn't one of them.

I mean sure I could've complained, but I was outnumbered, so I did the next best thing. I complained to the dogs instead, and they were very sympathetic when they weren't busy pulling the squeakers out of their toys or ripping up one of my perfectly good socks...

So then along came Stargate SG-1... and I didn't get to see that either 'cause it was on Showtime (someone want to explain the reasoning behind that one to me? Anyone?) and we only had basic cable. Needless to say when I got my own place that changed.

Finally last year a friend let me borrow the first season DVD set, and from the first episode on I was hooked... hooked on the stories... hooked on the characters... and hooked on watching this guy named Richard Dean Anderson who had the ability to convey more humor, frustration, confusion, and determination with a look or a gesture than most actors could armed with entire pages of dialogue... Honestly, I think the best moments between you, Amanda, Christopher, Michael, (and yes Corin) are the ones where no one will say a word and yet convey volumes... ok, that and the snappy one liners...

Since then I've watched more episodes via DVD, Sci-Fi Channel, and the Internet, and the more I watched the more I started noticing little things, like the time O'Neill got stranded on a planet and he's standing at the river's edge throwing rocks, and instead of picking up rocks off the ground he reaches into his pants pocket instead and voila... more rocks! I starting cracking up at the mental image of this guy walking around stuffing his cargo pants with rocks just so he could toss them into a river. Little things like that add a lot to a character.

Well I've gone on far too long, but since I've never written an actor before I hope you'll forgive me. Meanwhile, I have a lot of MacGyver catching up to do, but just wanted to say thanks again for all your hard work, and Happy Birthday!

We were kinda sad (let's say we almost died) when we heard that season six was the final one, but now a new light shines through the Gate. What else could I write what's not written already? I am happy that you believe in God, Thomasina Gibson told me that when she guide me through the Bridge Studios. I hope you don't mind for asking her. I like the way you care about peace, our nature, kids, and people with special needs. It's great that you are in the situation that many people will listen to you. And I am very keen on "Legend". I think you put much from your heart inside.

I would not say I am fan because you are more a big paragon sometimes even surrogate father to me since I was 13. From that moment when Mac said "Lord give me the strength to deal with what I can and endure what I can't. Well I'm enduring," I was deeply impressed. Of course I know Mac is not you but, it was the first time I hear an actor saying such things in a TV-show. I believe in God since I was Wylie's age. This, the wish to meet you and the way how you played a nice guy who likes kids, outsiders, disabled people..., helped me to handle my spastic diplegia, and the death of my Mum and Dad when I was 9 and 10. Because of you I "survived" the terrible boarding school which I must attend after my parents died. Thanks!

I still miss them very much. Especially at Christmastime and in January because my birthday is on 20th. And sometimes it's hard to stand on my own wheels with no one behind me. But then I look down on my wheelchair which is signed by Christopher Judge, Don Davis, Peter Williams, and many more of the show and I ask God for the 1000th time, if he could help me to meet you in person. (There is more than enough space for a signature.) And the hope that my wish will come true, keeps me rollin'. Maybe you could help him. Enjoy every day with your family. I bet that you've never imagined the impact you would have on people when you started your acting career!!! I was very touched by your farewell and thanks to your audience at the end of MacGyver's last episode some 10 years ago. I reckon it's the very first time I've seen an actor doing this on TV. Since than, you have created another character that has become very popular too, but, even if O'Neill's adventures are very imaginative and sometimes completely unbelievable in my opinion, I rather prefer MacGyver's creativity and warmness, so I'm sure that MacGyver will live on forever in your fans' hearts and minds!

When I was in Vancouver (some 10 years ago) I've sent Belgian chocolates to the Bridge Studio for Mr Dana Elcar and a T-shirt for you with some sentences (in French) from Chief Seattle's reply to the president of USA (I bet you know this wonderful text explaining to the great white man in Washington that the Indians' way of life was completely different from the white's. It was a great lesson in nature's respect given to the white people some hundred years ago!) Well, I never got a reply... I just hope that you both received your presents and that the chocolates were not dropped in a rubbish bin or ended in some other guy's stomach! Well, anyway, I'm sure that, with Kate's help, you'll get my message this time and this makes me happy. You know, she's done a wonderful job in putting your great website on line, maintaining it and enriching it every other week. She deserves a big thank you from us (your fans) and I'm sure you have had the opportunity to thank her for that too!

I don't know how to thank you enough for everything you've done. You've always been and probably will always be my role model. Someone to look up to, and I was always trying to give everything just to be, to a small extent, like you.

I've had lots of problems in my youth, I've been quite a bit overweight and very shy. I always admired your love of sports, so I took up going to the gym every other day. I'm watching what I eat and took a few courses on self confidence. I lost around 25 kilos and I'm so much more comfortable. About two years ago I met someone special and for the first time in years I didn't feel like he wouldn't be intersted in me anyway. He's now my fiancee and I've never been more happy in my entire life.

I owe you a lot and what better way than to thank you through this message. Of course I realise that in fact you didn't do anything to me directly, but you always gave me the confidence that I can change my life if I really want to. Thank you so much with all my heart.
