VECTROCON SYSTEMS

Vectrocon Systems, a corporation based in Los Angeles, designed and produced a variety of top-secret technological innovations, including NavCom-24, the most sophisticated navigation system ever developed. Michael Simmons had been employed there as the Director of Project Development.

Charles Banning, the head of the Banning crime family, had engaged in selling some of the country's most precious and top-secret technology to the East Germans, and he had plucked Simmons as an inside contact to steal top-secret technology and sell it to the East Germans. Simmons was motivated by pure greed, and he readily arranged for the sale of information, but when he turned rogue and swindled the East Germans out of three quarters of a million dollars for his own profit, he made himself a target of both the federal government, who wanted him alive for selling information to the East Germans, and Banning who wanted him dead for double-crossing his foreign clients.

MacGyver was given the assignment of finding and apprehending Simmons, and his search brought him to Vectrocon Systems. However, in order to slip into the building after hours without tipping anyone off, MacGyver needed to ride up the elevator shaft to the tenth floor, in total violation of every instinct he owned.
