DOCI

According to the Book of Origin, the Doci is the one who speaks the word of the Ori. He is the leader of the Priors in the city of Celestis in the Ori galaxy, and his highly evolved powers surpass even those of the Priors. He wears the special robes of his office with a symbolic high collar signifying the religion of Origin, and he does not carry the staff as Priors do. Within the palace of the holy city of Celestis is a wall of fire known as the Flames of Enlightenment, the embodiment of the Ori themselves. From the wall, the glowing energy of the Ori can enter the Doci, and his eyes glow and his voice deepens as the Ori speak through him.

When the Ancient communication terminal allowed Daniel and Vala to communicate in the Ori galaxy through the bodies of Harrid and Sallis, Daniel was brought before the Doci, and from Daniel the Ori learned of the existence of the Milky Way Galaxy, shielded from the Ori by the Ancients. Immediately, the Doci dispatched Priors to the new galaxy, and he warned Daniel of the coming crusade. "Evil has raised a great many unbelievers in a far-off place. They must be shown the path. Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all those who embrace evil. In the name of the gods, ships shall be built to carry our warriors out amongst the stars, and we will spread Origin to all the unbelievers. The power of the Ori will be felt far and wide and the wicked shall be vanquished." Later, as the Priors sought to convert Dakara, the power of the Ori brought Gerak's mind to Celestis as his physical form remained on Dakara. There it was the Doci who officiated as Gerak was transformed into a Prior of the Ori.
