SEEVIS

Seevis

Seevis was both the administrator and the barkeeper in the village of Ver Isca in the Ori galaxy. He claimed to be the most pious man in the village and had acquired a place of wealth and power for himself by using bribery, threats, and strong-arm tactics to keep the village under control and to punish anyone who strayed from the path of righteousness. Shortly after Vala found herself in the village of Ver Isca, she was dragged from her home by Seevis and manacled to the Ara, accused of being unholy and ordered to be punished for her sins as an unbeliever. Only after she was released three days later did she learn that Seevis was in fact the leader of the anti-Ori underground movement and that her ordeal had been a test to determine if she could be trusted.

Seevis and Denya, who also worked at the bar, recruited Vala into their movement and planned to mount a rebellion. Seevis had many people on the inside among the monks of Celestis, the Ori army, and the builders of the Ori starcraft, and he intended to sabotage the newly constructed Ori ships by starting a massive chain reaction that would undermine the Ori's power by eliminating tens of thousands of their followers at once. However, the Priors had learned in advance of the sabotage, and the plan was thwarted. Instead, Seevis, Denya, and Vala attempted to warn Earth of the coming crusade by using an Ancient communication terminal that Seevis's men had smuggled out of Celestis. They were discovered by Tomin, however, who used his Ori staff weapon to destroy the device and to kill both Seevis and Denya.
