Richard visited CBS This Morning, and he was interviewed by Mariette Hartley, who stole a hug from him. He talked about the unique and non-violent nature of MacGyver, and how much he enjoys doing his own stunts despite some injuries. He also spoke about the 5641-mile bicycle trip he took to Alaska as a teenager and the letter his father had sent to him at the time which helped to shape his outlook on life. When questioned about his personal life, he acknowledged that he is still very much involved with Sela Ward.
