Showtime aired a special introduction to its new series Stargate SG-1. The program featured interviews with the producers, cast, and several department heads to take a behind-the-scenes look at the premise, the sets, the costumes, and the effects, and many clips offered a preview of the first few episodes of season one. Richard talked about the appeal of the action adventure genre, he contrasted his characters Jack O'Neill and MacGvyer, and he earned high praise from his fellow cast members.
