Richard appeared at the Salt Lake City Comic Con where he took the opportunity to greet fans, pose for photos, sign autographs, and participate in a Question & Answer panel. In addition to questions about favorite episodes, scenes, and props, he also talked about MacGyver's international appeal and influence on the language, popular culture, and even many career choices, and he commented on the contrast between the original MacGyver and the newest reboot.
