- Presumably the DXS agents had found a hotel key on Piedra so that they could use Piedra's own hotel room to question him.
- Presumably MacGyver had to acquire a second hotel key from the front desk or pick the lock with a Swiss army knife after Terry lost the hotel key that he had given her.
- Presumably Piedra already had information about his target so that he was able to carry out his mission to kill Archbishop Fierro without needing the instructions or payment found in the briefcase that MacGyver collected at the cemetery.
