ANTON

Anton was an officer with the Bulgarian Secret Police. When MacGyver traveled to Bulgaria to acquire microfilm containing evidence of corruption within the government, he encountered Penny Parker, who had just ended a relationship with Stepan Frolov, and she had chosen to keep the jewelry that Stepan had offered her as a gift. However, the jewelry had been stolen by Stepan's uncle, General Petrovich, and MacGyver's microfilm contained evidence of the theft. Together, MacGyver and Penny were identified as spies and enemies of the state, and General Petrovich ordered that they be recaptured and that the jewelry and the microfilm be recovered at all costs. As MacGyver and Penny made their way toward the border, Stepan hoped to prevent their escape, and he directed Anton to station his men at every gas station and to search every tract of farmland between the city and the Greek border. Anton was confident that there was no way they would be able to get through, but by stealing the general's car and creating a highway hazard to prevent pursuit by the police, MacGyver and Penny, accompanied at last by Stepan, were able to make their way into Greece.
