ARIZONA

When MacGyver was a kid, his dad had taken him once on a trip to his favorite fishing hole, a place called Sparrow Lake in Arizona. MacGyver remembered it as the most beautiful spot he had ever seen, and as an adult, whenever he would get a little time off, he would go back to Arizona to try to find it, however it is an out-of-the-way kind of spot and he would often get a little lost.

It was on one such excursion that MacGyver missed the turn at a crossroads about 60 miles outside of Fairmont, and he stopped at the nearby Sparrow Ridge Airport to ask for directions. There he was drawn into a hostage situation. Andrews, Buddy, Turk, and Elias had taken over the small desert airstrip as part of their scheme to steal an armored car from Dallas, transport it to Arizona, and hijack a charter plane to escape across the border into Mexico. MacGyver and Kelly, Dave, Al, and Walt from the isolated airport were held as hostages and would probably have been killed when the thieves made their escape. However, MacGyver was able to elude capture and prevent the criminals from escaping. They were apprehended and held in custody.
