LISA CHAN

Lisa Chan was the older sister of Paul Chan. Their parents had been killed in a car accident seven years ago when she was in college and Paul had been only 7 years old. Lisa had taken on much of the responsibility of raising her younger brother, but as a teenager he was becoming more distant and secretive.

Lisa was a karate instructor with dreams of opening her own karate school. She was a friend of MacGyver, and during a karate session with him she received a phone call from someone in San Francisco interested in financing her studio. She left immediately for the airport and asked MacGyver to pick up Paul in Chinatown.

Lisa believed that Paul was attending a birthday party, but in fact he had become involved with Stone, a criminal, thief, and swindler, who had plans to use Paul's resemblance to the ancient Chinese legend of the Wish Child to his advantage. Paul had put himself in great danger, but MacGyver was able to rescue him before Lisa returned from San Francisco.

Lisa's trip did not turn out as she had hoped, but when she returned, she joined Paul and MacGyver for some homemade pizza. They claimed the birthday party had been outstanding, and neither of them divulged the secret of Paul's misadventures while she was gone.
