CRISP

Crisp and Polk were both brought on by Barrett when he was hired by Kurt Neilson, a colonel with East German Intelligence, to recover and destroy a microfilm list of terrorist names and plans that MacGyver had acquired during a mission behind the Iron Curtain. Throughout the assignment, Crisp made a habit of eating large delicatessen sandwiches.

Neilson, Barrett, Crisp, and Polk were in position at the pier in San Pedro when MacGyver arrived with the intention of passing the list on to Pete Thornton, but Pete instructed MacGyver to get the list to safety while he took on Neilson's men. MacGyver knocked out Crisp by swinging at him with his bag, and he secretly hid the list in the base of a light standard in the parking lot. However, he was apprehended when Polk struck him in the back of the neck, and he was brought to a warehouse on Tucker Street in San Pedro.

When MacGyver would not reveal where the list was hidden, Neilson injected him with a serum designed to use disorientation and pain to persuade him to give up the information. MacGyver was able to escape by using a bed frame to construct a large slingshot that knocked down Crisp and Polk long enough for him to get away. In his state of confusion and pain MacGyver was taken in by Lisa, a young runaway whom he had helped earlier and who hoped to return the favor. Barrett, Crisp, and Polk conducted a search of the area, including Lisa's apartment, but they failed to find him. MacGyver had set a trap using a car battery and a TV tube that triggered an explosive power surge when Crisp tried to open the door, and MacGyver and Lisa were able to escape.

When MacGyver began to recover his memory, he returned to the warehouse, hoping to acquire the antidote. Crisp was eating a sandwich while standing guard in front of the warehouse when MacGyver arrived, but MacGyver released air from a car tire as a decoy and then slammed the car door into Crisp, knocking him out when he bent over to investigate. Using a smoke detector and a clever contraption of suspended water bottles and falling barrels, MacGyver also managed to get the better of both Barrett and Polk.

MacGyver was able to defeat Neilson and to recover the antidote from the sewer grate where Neilson had tossed it, and as Pete Thornton and his men arrived on the scene, they would take Neilson and his men into custody.
