TILLEY

Officer Tilley worked in the property room cage of the Decker Street Police Station. When James Crowe, a career criminal, had used a land fraud scheme to steal $400,000 from several retirees, MacGyver and Thornton determined that it takes a con to beat a con, and they mounted a sting of their own involving the police property room.

Thornton and MacGyver arrived at the police station with a trunk that was supposed to hold evidence for a case but which in fact held Crowe, bound and gagged. Officer Tilley informed them that they needed a completed 314-72A form before their evidence could be submitted, and when Thornton produced the form, Tilley left to have it signed by the watch commander, a process which took some time.

Once inside the cage, MacGyver rewired the button to open the door, they filled the trunk with random stolen items, and they left Crowe behind, locked in the cage. When Officer Tilley returned and found Crowe inside his cage, he sounded the alarm, and the swarm of responding officers found not only Crowe in a compromising position but also his partners outside the building.

As the police officers poured through the building in response to his alarm, Officer Tilley enthusiastically exclaimed that in twenty years on the force he had never had this much excitement.
