Penegal is an Asgard and a member of the Asgard High Council. When the Asgard colony of Orilla faced annihilation by the Replicators, the Asgard fleet fired upon the Replicator ship. Penegal reported to Thor that debris from the destroyed ship had rained down upon the planet and had begun to replicate and infest the colony and its systems in an organized fashion as if the individuals were being controlled by a human-form leader.
