Richard returned to New Zealand to attend the Armageddon Expo, which was held on two consecutive weekends in Manukau and Christchurch, New Zealand. Before the conventions began, Richard participated in several interviews for local media. Among these was a conversation with Heather du Plessis-Allan of TV3's "Story" for a segment that aired on March 7th. Heather described her visit in her own words:

If you are a similar age to Duncan and I, you will probably be a fan of MacGyver.

I even bought a Jeep like him because I am such a fan so you can imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to meet him.

It was part interview - part date.

A teenage dream came true when I met Richard Dean Anderson to talk Donald Trump, Armageddon Expo and would MacGyver ever make a come-back?
