Joe Spencer had gained the ability to see SG-1 missions as a sort of psychic vision due to the technology of the Ancient communication stone. Distraught after witnessing the death of Daniel Jackson, he suddenly glimpsed Daniel's return in ascended form. In his ecstatic reaction, leaping into the air and up the side of trees, he nearly collided with an unsuspecting passerby on the sidewalk who had stopped to buy a newspaper.
