"Wormhole X-treme!", a cable television series based on Stargate Command and SG-1, was sold to a Hollywood studio by Martin Lloyd and ran for three episodes before it was canceled and later picked up for what would become a ten year run. The chief priority of the show's executive producer was budget. He avoided the need for an expensive weightless scene by eliminating the word "weightless" from the script, he offered the choice of showing the alien ship only in the actors' reactions or including the visual effect for $5000 less, and he defended his executive decisions by reminding the production of his Cable Ace Award.
