P4S-237, once rich in naquadah deposits, had been a planet under the control of Ba'al. However, Ba'al had abandoned the planet over a hundred years ago when the naquadah mines went dry. Since then, Lord Mot, acting as Ba'al's emissary, had demanded tribute, forcing the population to continue mining, and cruelly punishing the inhabitants for failure. Very few inhabitants remained loyal to the gods, and many believed the ancient prophecy which claimed that one day strangers would come through the chaapa'ai to slay the gods and free the people. At the request of Ellori, SG-1 helped the population to destroy Mot, and to free the planet from the Goa'uld.
