URRONE

On Orban, nano-technology is used as a means of acquiring knowledge. Children such as Merrin, Zaren, Solen, and Tomin are selected to be urrone, a type of apprenticeship. They are given millions of nanites at birth, before neural pathways are established, enabling them to learn vast amounts of information very quickly. At age 12, urrone children undergo the averium ceremony in which their knowledge is passed on. To be selected as urrone is considered a great honor.
