Oz Comic-Con
September 19-27, 2015


RDA Richard returned to Australia to attend Oz Comic-Con, which was held on two consecutive weekends in Brisbane and in Sydney, Australia.

At each convention, Richard took the opportunity to greet fans, pose for photos, sign autographs, and participate in Q & A panels.

In addition, before the conventions began, Richard participated in a series of interviews for radio, television, and print to promote the upcoming events.

Channel 9 - "Today"
Several weeks before arriving in Australia, Richard chatted with Karl Stefanovic of The Today Show in Australia for a live interview via satellite from Los Angeles.

On the b105 morning radio show, Stav and Abby talked to Richard about the longevity of his roles and MacGyver's influence on popular culture.

The Brisbane Times

Trekzone Spotlight
In a podcast with Matt Miller of Trekzone.org, Richard shared fond memories of his work on MacGyver, Legend, and Stargate SG-1. He also spoke about leaving Stargate to be with his daughter, his experiences at sci-fi conventions, and his active support of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

On Tuesday, Richard traveled to Sydney for the next leg of his journey. Despite several days of bad weather, he was able to spend some time visiting the city, including a stops at Bondi Beach and Darling Harbor.

On Friday, Richard participated in another series of interviews for radio, television, and print to promote his appearance at Oz Comic-Con in Sydney.

On the morning radio talk show, Richard spoke with hosts Gus, Matty, and Mark about his role on MacGyver, the creative and sometimes absurd nature of MacGyver's inventions on the show, and his appearance on The Simpsons.

Channel 7 - "The Morning Show"
On the morning television talk show, Richard spoke with hosts Larry and Sami about his brief appearance on The Simpsons, the imaginative nature of the inventions on MacGyver, the injuries he sustained doing his own stunts, and his pride in the legacy of the series. He also talked about his transition to a new fan base with Stargate, his daughter's acting aspirations, and his impression of the colorful fans at Oz Comic-Con.
