MAJOR NEWMAN

Major Newman was part of a rogue NID off-world operation under Maybourne's command using off-world bases from which to steal alien technology by whatever means necessary. He was one of four men who escaped from SG-1 through the beta stargate in Utah. As the leader of an off-world unit, he received orders from Maybourne, supervised the theft of artifacts, and arranged for their transport back to Earth. As part of an undercover mission, O'Neill took command of Newman's unit, exposed the rogue operatives, and shut down the off-world operation. Newman and his team were arrested for high crimes against the United States and its allies.
