ORI WARRIORS

Ori Warriors

It is the will of the Ori that all unbelievers be converted or destroyed. When the Doci learned of the existence of the Milky Way Galaxy, he vowed, "Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all those who embrace evil. In the name of the gods, ships shall be built to carry our warriors out amongst the stars, and we will spread Origin to all unbelievers." The Ori warriors are the human followers of Origin, those who have been raised since birth to believe in the Ori, to follow Origin without question, to kill all unbelievers, and to fight to the death to protect Origin in a holy crusade. In Ver Isca and many other villages on a world among dozens like it in the Ori galaxy, followers built enormous ships, and armies by the tens of thousands prepared for the Day of Reckoning, the holy crusade. As the battle began, four Ori warships entered the Milky Way Galaxy through the supergate, a stargate in space of massive proportions, and they easily defeated an allied armada of Tauri, Jaffa, Tok'ra, Asgard, and Lucian ships.

The Ori warriors are led by Adria, the Orici, the human embodiment of the Ori in this galaxy. In battle they will leave survivors who will spread the word of the Ori's power, for their true purpose is conversion rather than annihilation, bringing more worshippers to Origin and thus increasing the power of the Ori. Although not invincible, the Ori forces are superior to anything in this galaxy, and word began reaching the SGC that almost daily new worlds had fallen to the Ori army, including many Earth allies such as Chulak, Dakara, Hebridan, Langara, and Tegalus. Tomin, the husband of Vala, is among the warriors. A skillful soldier and fine leader, Tomin had led the attempted conquest of P9C-882. The SGC's plan to open a wormhole between the supergate and the Pegasus Galaxy served temporarily to prevent additional Ori ships from entering the galaxy.

Ori warriors wear body armor and helmets, some of which protect the head and upper face, some of which protect the full face. The armor provides significant protection in battle, however it can be vulnerable to P-90 weapons fire, and warriors have fallen in battle against conventional SGC weapons. The warriors carry a staff weapon, or lance weapon, which is powered by a blue energy crystal and fires a blue beam of energy that can wound or kill. The soldiers are also armed with stun weapons that are worn at the wrist and which fire a less potent energy beam that may cause pain or unconsciousness.
